After suffering and recovering from a devastating loss of limbs, Nerium aspired to be a great doctor like Mercy. He was inspired by her "miracle" work on his legs, took medical classes for the next few years and partnered with another field medic. However, he had failed to assist and keep patients alive due to overwhelming anxiety, This led to him leaving the medical field and pursuing a reclusive life style.
Nerium has a fascination with all kinds of flora especially the poisonous kind and definitely makes use of it. He deals and works with assassins and killers who need it. He wears a plague doctor mask and stuffs it with sweet smelling flowers, he doesn't believe in the immunity it gives you from disease but the scent keeps him calm.
Nerium named himself after the poisonous flower Oleander. This is the flower he taped in his wrist box (i don't know what to call this thing) for good luck.
He joined the fight with hope that he could still help people, if not as a doctor then as a fighter.
